FHMS Athletics
FHMS sports are offered by local organizations – most coordinated by Island Rec (378-4953).
However, FHMS offers girls' volleyball in the fall and middle school track in the spring.

Register online with the link below or we have paper forms in the middle school office.

Athletes must have a current physical on file. Physicals are good for 2 years.
Yellow Slips will be handed out during MS lunch in the office - 3/23-3/27/26
Athletes must get a yellow slip in order to participate in practice.
FRIDAY HARBOR MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD 2026
Hey Tigers!
I am excited to kick off another Friday Harbor Middle School Track & Field season!
Our mission as always is to build a strong foundation of community, where every athlete supports and uplifts one another. We emphasize teamwork, accountability, and mutual respect, creating an environment where athletes push each other to grow—not just in competition, but as individuals.
Our goal is to foster a team culture where every athlete feels valued, included, and responsible for maintaining a positive team atmosphere.
First Practice
Monday, March 30th, 2026
Practice Time: 3:05 PM – 4:15 PM
Practices begin each day in the outside commons area at Friday Harbor Middle School

Attendance & Commitment
Athletes are expected to:
Attend all practices and meets unless excused for illness, family, or academic obligations
Notify a coach in advance if they must miss practice or a meet
Arrive prepared and ready to participate
After School Expectations (FHMS)
Report directly to the outside commons area after school
Use time before practice to change, get water, or use the restroom
Remain in designated areas and follow school expectations
No roughhousing, wandering campus, or unnecessary phone use
Practice begins promptly — athletes who are late may miss important instruction
Spring Street Students
Check out with Lily Dukes at the front desk
Please do not come to campus before 2:55 PM
After checkout, head directly to Friday Harbor Middle School for practice
Wednesday Schedule
School dismisses early on Wednesdays.
Students must leave campus or report to the library after school
Follow all school expectations while in the library
Bring homework, reading, or quiet activities
At 3:00 PM, athletes may report to the outside commons area for practice
Failure to follow these expectations may result in loss of practices or meets.
Effort, Attitude & Sportsmanship
Athletes are expected to:
Give their best effort at practices and meets
Show respect for teammates, coaches, and officials
Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times
Behavior issues may result in disciplinary action including suspension from practices or meets.
Academic Eligibility
Athletes must maintain passing grades in all subjects in order to compete. There will be grade checks that determine eligibility.
Uniforms & Equipment
Athletes will be issued a team uniform
Uniforms must be returned at the end of the season
Proper running shoes and athletic attire are required
Transportation & Pick-Up
Athletes should be picked up promptly after practices
After away meets, pickup will always be at the High School parking lot and or behind the football field.
Meet Day Reminders
Athletes should bring:
Water
Healthy snacks
Weather-appropriate clothing
Students may bring money for a Safeway stop before the meet, but it is not required. We will be doing the pizza again this year. Every Student is encouraged to bring 5 dollars if they can. :)
